THEATRE

Reign Or Shine constantly strives to develop new work and expand our community of artists across disciplines. We utilize primarily two programs: LOVE DRUNK and SEEING DOUBLE. The way we like to celebrate developing new stories and voices is to throw a party for them!

THE CHERRY ORCHARD PART 1
Written by Anton Checkov
Directed by Jesse Edward Rosbrow
Friday, June 9th: 7:30pm
Saturday, June 10th: 5:30pm

Anton Chekhov was a master whose daring work revolutionized theatre. In THE CHERRY ORCHARD, his last full-length play, an impoverished landowning family is unable to face the fact that their estate is about to be auctioned off. Lopakhin, a local merchant, presents numerous options to save it, including cutting down their prized cherry orchard. But the family is stricken with denial. The Cherry Orchard charts the precipitous descent of a wealthy family and in the process creates a bold meditation on social change and bourgeois materialism.Come see this nontraditional and hilarious interpretation helmed by visionary director Jesse Edward Rosbrow.

The League of American Wrestling has operated for seven decades across the country by a committee, or a cabal, of promoters who run their own territories and work together to make the most money for themselves. Now comes Jackson Lincoln, a second generation promotoer in L.A.W. who steals the biggest star, Tyler Boulder, from Sam Geiger, the President of L.A.W.'s midwest territory. Now, the hostile takeover begins. Will Lincoln's vision for the future of sports entertainment destroy the tradition of professional wrestling? Will the upstart king's attempt to claim the throne crash and burn all of the people he's touched? No holds are barred and no bonds are sacred in this epic saga about trust, tradition, and ambition under the bright lights of the greatest sport of 'em all.
