Romeo & Juliet And Film Noir Collide In STAR-CROSSED: A DASHIELL HAMLET TALE

P.I. Dash Hamlet is hired by a young ingenue when she suspects her boyfriend has eyes for another dame: her cousin! Think you know this story ends? It’s a tour-de-farce crime noir inspired by Shakespeare’s ROMEO & JULIET. Two actors play all the parts, get all the good lines, and all the good death scenes. Hot on the heels of last year’s explosive DEAD FOR A DUCAT, this new Dash Hamlet case will leave you breathless. Here’s looking at you, kid.

Get your tix at!

Making its World Premiere at the Orlando Fringe Festival, STAR-CROSSED: A DASHIELL HAMLET TALE is a two-hander developed first at Shetler Studios in New York. After the success of DEAD FOR A DUCAT, Reign Or Shine Productions decided to see what other tales of Shakespeare could handle a film noir twist. “The exciting thing about the world that Matthew has created,” says show director Kelly Johnston, “is its versatility. There’s room for other stories that Private Investigator Dash Hamlet investigate. In fact, we plan on tackling all 36 of Shakespeare’s plays by the time we’re done.” After it’s run at the Orlando Fringe Festival, STAR-CROSSED: A DASHIELL HAMLET TALE will play at the Capital Fringe Festival in Washington, D.C. and have a run in New York City.

Star-Crossed: A Dashiell Hamlet Tale will be a can’t-miss experience. Where else will you find two people sharing ten roles, swapping parts mid-scene, with audience participation, and sixth death scenes? Only at the Brown Venue May 17th – May 26th.
